AS IN PLASTIC experimentiert mit Codes und Referenzen der Popkultur, dekonstruiert sie und entwickelt daraus sorgfältig eine eigene Stilsprache: Worte der Liebe, Gemeinschaft und Solidarität sind eingebettet in noise-lastige Gitarrenostinati und hypnotische Rhythmen – eine Konferenz aus Wut, Versöhnung und Heimkehr: alles verletzlich aneinander geschmiegt.

 

Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2022 hat die Gruppe mehrere Besetzungswechsel sowie Änderungen im Namen des Projekts durchlaufen. AS IN PLASTIC hat eine neue Ebene erreicht und ist das Ergebnis einer Suche und Transformation künstlerischer Identität. Ein Arbeitsprozess, geprägt von engagierten Freundschaften und dem starken Willen, sich gemeinsam zu verändern und zu wachsen.

 

Das entschlossene Zusammenspiel von AS IN PLASTIC erwärmt das Blut langsam bis zum Siedepunkt, doch die Stimme lässt einen erschauern wie kaltes, klares Wasser. Unpolierte (Kraut-)Riffs untermalen eine unverwechselbare Stimme, die direkt den Hörnerv trifft. Ausbrüche unmittelbarer Körperlichkeit und Momente der Ruhe prallen aufeinander. Während die Musik noch in den Gehörgängen nachhallt, verklingen Fragen und Antworten im Raum.

Experimenting and deconstructing codes and references of pop culture, AS IN PLASTIC reflects and carefully builds its own stylistic language: Words of love, community and solidarity are embedded in noise-infused guitar ostinatos and hypnotic rhythms – a conference of anger, reconciliation, and homecoming all vulnerably nestled together.

 

Since their founding in 2022, the Group went through several changes in line up as well as changes in naming the project. Arriving on a new plateau, AS IN PLASTIC is the conclusion of a search for and transformation of their artistic identity. A working process formed by dedicated friendships and a strong will to transform and grow collectively.

 

AS IN PLASTICs determined interplay slowly warms the blood to the boiling point yet the voice gives chills like cold, clear water. Unpolished (kraut)-riffs underpin a distinctive voice, directly striking the auditory nerve. Bursts of immediate physicality and moments of calmness collide. While the music still reverberates in the ear canals, questions and answers fade away in the room.
